Cordea Signs Exclusive Agreement with New Horizons
In an exclusive partnership, Cordea has joined together with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, the largest global information technology training company, to develop a state of the art training program for consumers, government, and industry members specializing in health care information management emerging markets that will include EMR/EHR technologies. Cordea Consulting will provide subject matter expertise in instructional design, curriculum development and lab development for this exciting project.


SurgiNet goes live at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles!
After over a year of hard work, Cordea Consulting would like to recognize CHLA's successful implementation of SurgiNet.  CHLA has been working toward this addition to their EHR for several years and this step closes another gap in their online documentation process.

The implementation project kicked off June 2008 with one of Cordea Consulting founders, Melinda Hayes, as the Project Manager. CHLA implemented surgery scheduling, intraoperative documentation, Perioperative case tracking, Item Master Synch/Peoplesoft interface, Preference Cards/Picklists, and charges. Go live has been a great success and we would like to congratulate the entire CHLA SurgiNet team on their accomplishments.


Cordea Consulting: Your ARRA Health Information Technology Resource
Cordea Consulting is proud to announce its partnership with the Oklahoma Foundation for Quality Management (OFMQ), a preliminary awardee of ARRA’s Health Information Technology Extension Regional Center Program Grant. Cordea will work with OFMQ in assisting Oklahoma healthcare providers select, implement, and meaningfully use certified EHR technology to improve the quality and value of health care throughout the state.

Another Cordea Consulting Success Story - Bridgeport Hospital completes their two-year SurgiNet project
Cordea is proud to announce the completion of a two-year project with Connecticut’s Bridgeport Hospital. In 2008, Surgical Services converted all of their intraoperative documentation from paper to online using Cerner SurgiNet. In addition, O.R. nurses are now entering medication orders and documenting medication administration on the eMAR.

On October 1st, 2009, the final phase of the SurgiNet project was completed, electronic charge capture and processing from Cerner SurgiNet to their billing system, SDK. Bridgeport Hospital is a single hospital facility but implemented SurgiNet in their Main O.R., Outpatient Surgery, Urology, and Endoscopy departments.   Congratulations Bridgeport!


Economic Stimulus and Healthcare IT
Included in the $787 billion the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, is approximately $20 billion in funding for healthcare IT, including incentive payments to physicians who implement and use eligible electronic medical records systems under the conditions laid out in the law.
